Read it Again!!

Most of us know that reading to our children is critical for developing literacy skills.

Storytime doesn't just support reading skills! It also teaches kids how to tell personal narratives!

When you read stories to your child, they learn the key elements of storytelling. They develop an awareness of what makes a good story.

Why Re-read?

We've all been there! It's storytime, and your child picks up a book you've read the night before, the night before, and the night before.

When you're done reading the book, they'll ask you to read it "one more time."

Here's the thing, reading that story over and over again gives your child the following:

  • Knowledge of critical words

  • Practice with language

  • An idea of how to tell a story

  • Comfort in the predictability of the activity

  • Bonding time with their special person

And so much more!
