SORO was founded to provide individualized speech-language intervention and community support through training and collaboration. At SORO, we see the whole child. We create alliances with all members of a child's care team to support the child across development.

The SORO Way

At SORO, we specialize in relationship-based interventions that support language while building a child's confidence.

We create goals to address a child's ability to understand and use language. We support the development of play skills.

Research shows therapies that include strong caregiver-clinician alliances improve a child's communication outcomes. At SORO, parents are at the heart of therapy. Caregivers are a critical part of the treatment planning process. Each quarter the therapy plan is reviewed with caregivers to improve the quality of the treatment.

At Soro, we maximize communication by:

  • Following the child's lead

  • Honoring a child's interest

  • Supporting regulation and connection

  • Developing treatment plans that support communication skills in the classroom and at home.

What Sets us apart?

  • At SORO, we use therapy materials that display cultural diversity. Our interventions are developed to honor a person’s culture and values and have a greater success rate than interventions that are not individualized.

At SORO, we slow down the evaluation process to learn about our clients and their families. Each therapy session allows us to know more about what matters to you.

Your cultural practices are honored within therapy goal setting. Our goal is to give our clients more access to the cultural experiences that are important to them.

  • Neurodiversity is the idea that we all experience and process the world around us in different ways and that there is no right way of thinking or being.

At SORO, we prioritize supporting a child’s sensory needs and individual differences. We highlight a child’s strengths while supporting their growth edges.

    • Play-based therapy

    • Building connection

    • Developing therapy around a child’s interests

    • Facilitating authentic engagement with connection.

    • Using DIRFloortime models DIRFloortime

  • We value connection over compliance. We view every behavior as a communication.

Our goal is strategically to support a child’s therapy experience through compassion, presence, and fellowship.

Children develop in safe spaces. SORO creates safe spaces for children to thrive and grow.

  • We believe in therapy that yields results. Our families consistently report progress in their child’s communication and connection within the first three months of treatment.
